The Story Beneath the Name
From Lover Pottery to Made by Jasmine — the evolution of a handmade ceramic collection rooted in love, soul, and presence.
When I first began creating the ceramic travel mugs some months ago that would become the signature of my work, I hadn’t spent a lot of time on branding, naming, or thinking — they took off from day one and were selling faster than I could I could make them. I had a list of 200 pre-orders within the first week and spent the first few months fulfilling those day and night. There was no time for computers, research, or naming as I was immersed in making and connecting with my supportive collectors of this first edition.
For these first months, I called my studio Lover Pottery — a name chosen in the momentum of creation. I knew I wanted the word “love” involved in some form - as that is what my vessels contain, and that is the energy I’m creating in the world, so I chose this while keeping up with the collections that were selling out in days. My work was quickly making its way into hearts, homes, and hands as gifts around the world from Turkey to Canada to Australia within the first few weeks.
But as the work grew in the first six months, one day I was in a meeting with a very prominent Seattle coffee founder when he brought something to my attention — there was company overseas with a name too similar — and I knew it was time to root this offering in something truly mine. As we were only a few months in, I felt comfortable with this.
So I returned to the hands that made it.
To the love at the center of it all: to my name.
✧ New Name, Same Heart
This naming is a return — not a departure.
There are still many pieces in the world that bear the original Lover Pottery stamp…These are honored as the First Edition Collection — vessels from the early days, full of instinct, soul, and raw beauty. They hold the memory of the beginning. The seed that was magically sprouting. The original form that I perfected while making them. And they wear my signature glazes as gowns that I created with their supportive stewardship.
The heart symbol remains. The forms and glazes are not changed.
The energy of love still infuses every vessel.
And the word itself — love — lives on in my new domain:
